St. Catherine University invites applications for a part-time (.50 FTE) Access Consultant Interpreter and Captioning.
This position is responsible for supporting the growing needs of the university faculty and students in providing interpreter and captioning support.
Responsibilities Include:
- Take led on field interpreter or captioning requests from students, faculty, staff or University partners, contact vendors, and coordinate the necessary services. This task also requires collecting preparatory materials and confirming services with the requestor.
- Track, measure, and quantify accommodation requests in the database, AIM, for data analysis purpose.
- Outreach to faculty, campus partners, etc. to ensure the accommodation need is met.
- Participate in department meetings, and student worker check-in meetings
- Attend meetings on campus and engage in the University as a whole.
Hourly Rate: $17.00 - $18.00

The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity, at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors. St. Catherine reserves the right to modify or adjust compensation depending on University needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in disability related services
- Two years of administrative support experience
- Experience scheduling appointments for a team with highly complex schedules
- Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and Google Docs
- Experience keeping sensitive information confidential
- Experience prioritizing a variety of tasks within tight time constraints
- Knowledge of accommodations available to college or university students
- Knowledge of accommodation needs specific to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Basic knowledge of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other laws pertaining to disability/accessibility in education
- Experience with Assistive Technology, e.g., TextHelp Read&Write, EquatIO, Sonocent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or graduate degree or related field such as education, rehabilitation counseling
- Knowledge of assistive technology related to accommodations for students with disabilities.
- American Sign Language (ASL) conversational fluency
